2. What is the difference between replacement installation and full installation?
Replacement installation is when your existing piping is still in good condition, we reuse it and simply swap out the old aircon units for new ones. Because no new materials are needed, the cost is lower and the job is faster.
Full installation is needed when there is no existing system, or when the old piping can no longer be reused. This includes new piping, insulation, and electrical cables on top of the new air conditioning units, so the cost is higher. If you are not sure which one applies to your home, our technician can assess this during the site visit.
3. How long does an aircon replacement take?
A standard replacement typically takes 3 to 6 hours depending on the number of indoor units. Because existing piping is reused, the job is straightforward and can usually be completed in a single visit.
4. Do I need to replace the piping when I replace my aircon?
Not necessarily. If your existing piping is in good condition, we will reuse it as part of the replacement, hence keeping the cost lower.
However, if you have experienced frequent gas top-ups, water leaking from your aircon pipes, or water leaking from your plastic trunking, new piping is usually recommended. These are signs that your existing piping may be deteriorating.
